The correlation between metacognitive skills and scientific attitudes towards the retention of male and female students in South Sulawesi, Indonesia

<span>This was quantitative correlational research, which investigated the correlation between metacognitive skills and scientific attitudes towards retention of male female students in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The research sample biology education second semester, with 104 consisting 47 males 57 females. instruments employed this study were those for assessing skills, attitudes, retention. Metacognitive measured using essay tests, while observation sheets. results indicated that value simultaneous contribution to higher than students. effective contributions attitude students' 3.33% 24.67%. both contribute 14.5% 17.2%, respectively, students’ retention.</span>
